EVOCATIONS

The VITIVER is a tropical and spontaneous plant, native to India and Indonesia, characterized by a large mass of roots that grow vertically in depths of up to 5 meters. The name VETIVER derives from the Tamil language “vettiveru”.

The essential oil is extracted by steam distillation, from the roots that are washed, cut and dried in the sun. For this reason, in addition to perfumery, it was also used in naturalistic engineering and was planted on the edges of streets to prevent soil erosion. There are many species of VETIVER, the most prized being Vetiver from Haiti, Vetiver Bourbon from Reunion Island and Vetiver from Java.

Depending on the type of territory where it grows and the sun exposure, each species has different olfactory facets. It is precisely the richness of nuances and the complexity of its scent that has always fascinated maî3 parfumeurs.

Vetiver essential oil has a slimy appearance and an amber color.

The harvest is done manually between December and September. Plants without roots are planted back in the ground so that they grow again.

The distillation process takes more than 24 hours and an average of 150 kg of dried roots are needed to obtain 1 kg of essential oil.

VETIVER JAVA is a strong and charismatic, elegant and magnetic fragrance, a unique interpretation of the VETIVER note with a citrus opening of Calabrian bergamot, grapefruit and Timur pepper, which immediately leads to an intense woody heart of java vetiver, unusually accompanied by floral nuances of geranium absolute. And a warm base of amber and musk that give a warm and intense finish.
